چکیده
Background/aim: The primary objective of the study was to determine diagnostic value serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels differentiate neonatal pneumonia (NP) and transient tachypnea newborn (TTN). secondary investigate prognostic role NT-proBNP in neonates with severe respiratory distress (RD). Materials methods: A prospective, observational, single-blinded involving 58 late preterm term newborns who were diagnosed TTN or NP conducted between June 2020 2021 at a level-3 intensive care unit Kırıkkale University Faculty Medicine. groups compared for measured 1st 24th hours life. Optimal cut-off determined by Youden index predict diagnosis NP. Lung ultrasound used support In addition, lung score (LUS) RD. Results: median level significantly higher hour life group than group, respectively 7263.5 pg/mL (1643-35,000) 3308 (69-19,746), p = 0.004. At 5515.5 pg/mL, had sensitivity 75% specificity 73.8% [AUC= 0.749 (95% CI: 0.602-0.895; 0.004)]. population divided into two as high (n: 23, LUS < 7) low 35, according 6th values 6320 (69-35,000) 3500 (570-15,948) 0.044. Duration oxygen (p 0.006), noninvasive ventilation 0.008) NICU stay 0.004) high-score group. Conclusion: can be relatively early predictor differentiation neonates. elevated are related which reflects severity RD regardless diagnosis.

Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn
Transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN) is a disease common in infants throughout the world and has been encountered by all physicians who care for newborn infants. Infants with TNN present within the first few hours of birth with tachypnea, increased oxygen requirement, and occasional hypoxia noted on arterial blood gases without concomitant carbon dioxide retention. When managing an infant w...

15 صفحه اولPrognostic value of plasma N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide levels in the acute respiratory distress syndrome.
OBJECTIVE Patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome suffer from profound cardiac and pulmonary derangement, including right ventricular strain and noncardiogenic pulmonary edema, which may potentially alter concentrations of cardiac natriuretic peptides. We sought to determine whether N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels are elevated in acute respiratory distress s...
